At least in unexpected grace. Surprising turnarounds. Unanticipated marvels.
The weather app on my phone predicted storms today. Rainfall most of the day. Clouds. There was not a teeny tiny yellow sun symbol to be found anywhere on our iPhones. And yet, this morning as I sat sipping tea on the small balcony overlooking the coastline, early morning sunshine touched the water in a vast ribbon of light. There were a few minutes that large storm clouds rolled in and the sunlight receded far out over the ocean, but they moved through quickly and the light on the water returned.
We spent the afternoon on the beach, after running up to Trader Joes for provisions. And this evening we both have streaky sunburns as we sip on cocktails in our new dollar store cactus stemmed glasses. Kitschy, but perfect for us.
There are so many things to think about, remember, and celebrate from the day, but tonight as gentle rain falls, I am simply grateful for this time.
